Place your scrambled letters in the unscramble box and generate a list of all words you can make from them.

How to use Word Unscrambler?

Our unscrambling tool is super easy to use. Place all the letters you want to unscramble into the box and hit the submit button. The tool will then generate all the words you can create from your letters, ordered by length.

The filtering menu is available if you want to edit your search or filter the results. This enables you to unscramble as many letter combinations as you want without leaving the page.

By default, the tool uses a combined dictionary, which includes all the words from the Scrabble US, Scrabble UK, and WWF dictionaries. You can choose any of these 4 dictionaries, with over 280,000 words combined.

Can the Unscramble Words tool be used to unscramble both words and letters?

The unscrambling tool will get the most out of any letter combination, whether you’re looking to solve anagrams or any combination of randomly ordered letters. So, what is the difference between unscrambling words and letters?

  • Unscrambling Words: This involves rearranging the letters of a word or a set of letters to form valid, meaningful words. The goal is to decipher or decode a jumbled or scrambled word into its correct spelling or form. For instance, unscrambling the letters “TESTING” would result in the word “SETTING”

If you want to unscramble words into anagrams, you should use our Anagram Solver. This tool will show only words of the same length as the input word.
  • Unscrambling Letters: This pertains to rearranging letters, which might not necessarily form complete words. The aim is to rearrange the letters into all possible combinations to find valid words or patterns within those letters. It focuses on exploring various permutations and combinations of the given letters to uncover words or create meaningful sequences. For example, given the letters “cat,” unscrambling letters might yield words like “act,” “at,” or “cat.”

How to unscramble words with extra letters?

If you play some of the most popular word games, such as Scrabble and Words With Friends, you usually have to combine letters from your rack with board letter(s). You can do this with Word Unscrambler in two ways:

  • Use a wild card in the unscramble box: type “?” alongside your scrambled letters, and the tool will treat it as a blank tile. You can use as many wild cards as you want.
  • Use the filter menu: our advanced filtering allows you to select letter(s) that you want your word to start with, end in, or contain in any position. You can also use the exclude box to remove any letter from the search.
