How to use the Wordle Solver
Wordle Solver is designed to emulate Wordle rules, making it easy for the user to instantly generate all potential solutions. Just place letters from your Wordle game in the following fields:
- “Correct letters” field: corresponding with Wordle’s green letters, place correctly guessed letters from your Wordle game in this field, in their respective positions.
- “Misplaced letters” field: analogous to Wordle’s yellow letters, these fields identify letters contained in the Wordle answer that are not in the correct position. The tool will then search for words containing yellow letters in all other positions.
- Have in mind that the yellow fields are position-based. For example, if you place the letter E in the second position, the tool will find all words that contain the letter E in the first, third, fourth, and fifth positions.
- Each Wordle guess should be placed in its own row. The tool allows you to add or remove yellow rows accordingly.
- “Letters NOT in the word”: whenever Wordle marks your letter grey, place it in this field. The tool will then exclude all the words containing this letter as a potential Wordle solution.
Once you’ve placed all the letters in their respective fields and positions, hit the Submit button. The tool will generate all potential Wordle solutions, ordered alphabetically.
You can also toggle the “show Wordle words only” option, which will show only potential solutions contained in Wordle’s dictionary.
Wordle tips and tricks
To solve Wordle’s mystery word in as few tries as possible, you should lock in as many green and yellow tiles as possible early on. We’ve compiled a list of the best starting Words for Wordle, which you can use to open the game and increase your chances of winning.
The concept of Wordle is simple, but becoming a master at the game requires a balance of ability and luck. By using the following advanced techniques, you too can increase your chances of completing each puzzle using a reduced number of turns:
- Start strong: Choosing the best starting word is a must to reveal yellow and green tiles and significantly increase your chance of solving each puzzle in fewer turns. On the contrary, choosing a poor starting word can result in only gray tiles, which only allow you to see which letters you shouldn’t use again.
- Locate vowels: Many players feel that an important strategy is to find vowels early on. To do this, try using vowel-heavy terms towards the start of the game. Finding vowels should significantly improve the accuracy of your following turns.
- Improve your vocabulary: Sometimes it’s hard to come up with the next guess. The more words you know, the easier it is to find the right one. We advise you to read through and memorize some 5-letter words, and you won’t get stuck coming up with the next guess.
- Take your time: Wordle puzzles are released daily, so players have the duration of the day to find the solution. Due to this, players can take their time over each turn and come up with their best answers under little pressure.
- Don’t repeat grays: Gray tiles indicate that the letter has been attempted and found to be not present in the puzzle solution. Using gray tiles in future turns will waste tile space that could instead be used on other letters that can give you more information.
- Repeat letters with caution: Even if a tile turns yellow or green, the same letter may still be present more than once. Try to limit attempts that use the same letter multiple times unless you are very confident they are successful.
- Use US English: Wordle puzzles use an American English dictionary, so players who are used to British English should remember that certain words are spelled differently, which can affect their word length.
- Practice makes perfect: As with anything, playing the game regularly will increase your chances of success. Even though Wordle is a daily game, levels can be played multiple times. Through repetition, players can identify areas to improve in their game.
- Make sure that the word you’re about to guess next hasn’t already been a Wordle solution in the past.
